COUNTY MAYO

COUNTY MAYO

County Mayo isn’t a rock band, but they can rock an Irish ballad. Their sad songs will tear at your heart strings and their rebel songs will fill you with Irish pride. You might not immediately recognize their names and faces, but you’ll know them by their off-beat humor and clever stage banter.

Their influences are the Clancy Bros. and Tommy Makem, the Wolfe Tones, Christy Moore,  and Andy M. Stewart. They’ve been performing Irish, Scots and Aussie folksongs since the early 1980s and have played wakes, weddings, community concerts and AOH conventions and been the headliners at the Erie and Mahoning Valley Irish Festivals and at the Ligonier Highland Games.

Founding members of the band are Bill Lewis (Guitar, Mando and Banjo) Marcy Meiers (Flute, Tin Whistle and Bodhran) and Ted Miller (Vocals). Their token Scotsman, Brad Campbell (Keyboard, Cajon and Vocals), and Bernie Bonnie (Electric Bass, Guitar and Vocals) round out their current lineup.

 CORNED BEEF & CURRY

CORNED BEEF & CURRY is The Corned Beef of John McCann, lead vocals and guitar, and Brad “Hamish” Dindak, percussion, pipes, and washboard, are joined by the Curry of Bob Banerjee, harmonies, fiddle, and mandolin, to create one of the premier Irish pub and party bands to ever come out of the Steel City.  No strangers to the Erie Irish Festival, the band brings its high energy sound back after a long hiatus.  These guys can engage an audience like no others.  In fact, we built the steps on the front of our stage years ago just for Bob, who likes to stroll through the crowd wailing on his fiddle.

JAG’R BUSH: THE U2 EXTRAVAGANZA

THE JAG’R BUSH: THE U2 EXTRAVAGANZA

Taking their name from one of southwest PA’s most famous plants, a bush with beautiful flowers surrounded by thorns, this rock band combines melody and power the way the jagger bush combines beauty and strength.  In a show created just for the Erie Irish Festival, Jag’r Bush will be bringing a high powered taste of the sounds they rock out to in Ireland:  U2, Van Morrison, and The Pogues.  And to top off their Irish rock credentials, these guys hail from GREENsburg.  Imagine U2 without the $175 ticket price!
